What Are KSA's?

"KSA" represents the Knowledge, Skills and Ability of a Candidate.

One of your challenges is to convince a Hiring Manager that you can do the job for which you are being considered. By using KSA’s in our Impact Resumes you can meet that challenge.

Knowledge is what you have learned by, and is described as, your education, your certifications, your industry exposure and your experience.

Industry experience can be described in either broad or specific terms. Our experience tells us, however, that your resume will usually have more impact if your industry experienced is described in specific terms –

enabling the hiring manager to determine quickly if you could be a match for his/her requirement. We can help you with that.

Experience is usually described by the job title. Job titles vary from company to company. It is critical that this piece of information accurately reflect what your position’s role was. We can help you with this as job titles are usually significant key words in your resume.

Skills are what you have acquired by work experience and other life experiences. Your Skills are conveyed in an Impact Resume by the titles of the positions you have held, what you learned and did in those positions, as well as the context of those positions within an organization. Crafting your Skills to enable the Hiring Manager to immediately recognize them is critical to creating an Impact Resume. We can help you accomplish this.

Ability is the quality of being able to perform. In short, the combination of your Knowledge and yours Skills combines to create and convey your Ability. Our Impact Resumes do that for you.

The Importance of KSA’s in an Impact Resume

You want to improve the odds that a Hiring Manager will see your resume.

As experienced recruiting professionals, we know that most Hiring Managers and every Applicant Tracking System react favorably to the key words that are used in KSA’s. By using KSA’s in your Impact Resume, we reduce the odds of your resume being excluded by an Applicant Tracking System. The result is that the Impact Resume improves the odds that a Hiring Manager will see your resume.

Then, the KSA’s improve the odds that the Hiring Manager will be able to match what you offer with what the position requires. Helping the Hiring Manager easily make that match is a key to a successful job search – and we use KSA’s to help your Impact Resume make that match for you.

We use KSA’s as part of an Impact Resume designed to accomplish the following for you:
  • Get you an interview
  • Better prepare for the interview
  • Prepare you to compete more effectively for the job
  • Improve your probability of getting the job.
